Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, and how to reach us about it.
Our commitment
MITIO Pty Ltd ACN 668 962 758, trading as Integra Injury Management, is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information we collect and hold, and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
In this policy, the expressions we, us and our are a reference to MITIO Pty Ltd trading as Integra Injury Management.
Dealing with us anonymously
Where it is lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym — when making a general enquiry, for example. It is generally not practicable for us to provide injury management services or manage a workers' compensation claim without knowing who we are dealing with.
The information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on our relationship with you. It may include your name, job title, employer, contact details, and information you provide when you enquire about our services.
In the course of providing injury management and workers' compensation services to employers, we may also handle sensitive information about injured workers, including health information. We collect and handle that information only where it is reasonably necessary for the injury management services we have been engaged to provide, and in accordance with the workers' compensation legislation applying in the relevant jurisdiction.
How we collect it
We generally collect personal information directly — through our web site enquiry form, by email, by telephone, or in the course of providing our services.
Where we provide services to an employer, we may receive information about workers from that employer, from insurers, or from treating practitioners, as part of the management of a claim.
Why we collect it
We collect personal information to provide our services, to respond to enquiries, to manage our relationship with clients, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Use and disclosure
We use personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, for related purposes you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented.
In the course of injury management we may disclose information to insurers, treating practitioners, rehabilitation providers, regulators and your employer, as required to manage a claim or as required by law. We do not sell personal information.
We use third-party service providers for functions such as cloud hosting, email and website services. Some of those providers store data outside Australia, most commonly in the United States. Where that occurs it is a cross-border disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8, and we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not otherwise disclose personal information overseas.
Direct marketing
We do not operate a mailing list and we do not send marketing email. If that changes, we will send marketing material only to people who have asked to receive it, and every message will include a simple way to opt out. You can also ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below.
Cookies and web site analytics
Our web site may use cookies to understand how the site is used and to improve it. A cookie does not identify you personally. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, which gives you the opportunity to accept or reject it.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as completely secure, and information you send us is sent at your own risk.
Where we no longer need personal information, and we are not required by law or by the applicable workers' compensation legislation to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances we may decline a request, and if we do we will explain why.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond substantively within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
